Requesting and giving approval
Ask one or more reviewers for approval, decide as a reviewer and keep track of open reviews.
There are two ways to approve. Members with approve rights can approve an object directly. Anyone who may edit it can instead ask reviewers for approval, for example the owner, whether or not they have approve rights themselves. Every named reviewer must approve; one request for changes sends the object back to draft.
Who can use this
- Owner
- Admin
- Compliance
Steps
1. Request approval
Click "Request approval", tick at least one person under "Reviewers (at least one, all must approve)", write a message and confirm. The current state is saved as a version and becomes "In review". You cannot pick yourself.
2. Reviewers are notified
Every reviewer gets a notification with a link to the object. Their open requests also appear on the "My reviews" page in the Compliance app and in the "Open reviews" card on the home page.
3. Decide as a reviewer
Open the object. The panel "Your review is requested" offers "Approve" and "Request changes", each with a comment. When the last reviewer approves, the version becomes the next major version.
4. Changes requested
If one reviewer clicks "Request changes", the object returns to draft and the requester is notified with the comment. Make the changes, save and request approval again; the new round is a new version.
5. Withdraw a request
While the request is open, the requester can click "Withdraw request". The object becomes a draft again.
