Answer questions
Resolve conflicts, fill in missing values, confirm unsure details and decide policy questions, one question at a time.
What the app does not know for sure, it asks. The questions come from the records and adapt: when a new file arrives or you change a value, new questions appear, and questions whose cause is gone disappear. The "Questions" tab shows the number of open questions, and on the overview every group carries its own number.
The questions appear as cards, one at a time, with "Question x of y" and the progress "x of y answered". Every card names the records concerned and, where there is one, the source with its quote. Clicking the source opens the file at the right place.
Who can use this
- Owner and Admin
- Questions about employees and payroll: only with the permission for personnel data
Steps
1. Open the questions
Click the "Questions" tab or "Answer questions" on the overview.
2. Resolve a conflict
Two sources give different values, for example tax class I in the employment contract and III in the March payslip. Each option is shown with its source. Click "Use this value" on the right one.
3. Fill in a missing value
A required value is missing, for example a person's work e mail. Enter or choose the value and click "Apply".
4. Confirm an unsure detail
A record was recognised with low confidence. Answering yes approves it, answering no skips it.
5. Make a choice
Policy questions have fixed answers, for example whether existing entries with other values are updated or kept, for which year carry over values are taken over, or which chart of accounts your previous accounting used.
6. Answer for all similar
If there are more questions of the same kind, "Apply to all similar (n)" is ticked. For a conflict, the app then takes the value from the same kind of source for the other records, for example always the one from the payslip. For a missing value, it sets the same value on every record with the same gap. Untick it to answer only this question.
7. Postpone a question
Click "Later". The next question appears; the postponed one comes back at the end.
8. Finish
When every question is answered, "No open questions" appears. Click "To the overview" to review the groups.
Fields and options
- Conflict
Two sources say different things about the same field. While it is open, the record is marked as a conflict.
- Missing value
A required field is missing, for example the hire date, the tax class or the cut over date itself. For fields that identify one thing, such as the e mail, the tax ID or the SKU, "Apply to all similar" is not offered.
- Confirmation
A yes or no question, for example about a record recognised with low confidence or about a difference between the open items and the trial balance.
- Choice
A decision for a whole group: update or keep existing data, the year of the carry over values, the chart of accounts, or what to do with a trial balance that does not balance.
Tips
- You can also answer a question in the assistant, for example with "The cut over date is 1 January 2027". Such an answer is carried out at once.
Good to know
- After every answer the records concerned are compared with your existing data again. The message that the answer was saved and n records were adjusted confirms it.
- Questions about employees, payroll data and carry over values are visible only to members with the permission for personnel data.
- The questions are currently worded in German.
