Who may read and edit processes

The two permissions of the Processes app, which roles have them and what else limits what you see.

The Processes app has two permissions: reading processes and editing processes. Every built in role may read processes. Editing is reserved for Owner, Admin and Compliance, because compliance documents how the company works. A company role can be given either permission.

The app is part of every company. It needs no package.

Who can use this

  • Reading processes: Every member with a built in role: Owner, Admin, Accountant, Sales, Purchase, HR Manager, Employee, Viewer and Compliance
  • Editing processes: Owner, Admin and Compliance
  • Changing the mode: Owner and Admin

Fields and options

Read processes

Open the overview, "Domains and data", the editor in read only mode, the trace, the list of revisions and the usage lists, and export processes as .bpmn files.

Edit processes

Everything above, plus "New process", "Import BPMN", drawing and saving diagrams, linking data, restoring revisions and deleting processes.

Change the mode

Switch between Describe, Track and Enforce. Only Owners and Admins may do this, even when a company role may edit processes. Anyone who may edit processes can set the execution of a step.

Good to know

  • Linking a table does not require the right to read its records. That right only decides whether you see the record count and "Go to table" on "Domains and data", and whether you see the table in the knowledge graph.
  • Every creation, import, save, link change, restore and deletion is recorded in the audit log.
  • You only see runs and the "Process" card for records you may read. For example, only members who may read payroll runs see the runs of the payroll process.
